We will focus on technical skills and processes to lead individuals in making unique work of their own. Four hour Open Studio will alternate between Thursday and Saturday.

Sculpting faces Rose Pengelly One 4-hour session, May 14 6-10p – $45.00 Sculpt eyes, noses and mouths with Rose. Low-tech pattern making Katie McDonald One 2-hour session, May 20 6:30-8:30p – $30.00 Learn to make easy patterns of common objects you have. This seminar will give you the "how to" to make your own patterns for developing work that is creative and repeatable Throwing tall Rose Pengelly Two 4-5-hour sessions, May 28 6-10p • 6/4 6-8p (trimming) – $70.00 Stretch you skills and go tall or go home. Bellied forms Rose Pengelly Two 3-4-hour sessions, June 1 6-10p • 6/4 6-8p (trimming) – $70.00 Create bellied forms on the wheel. Closed form lidded jar Kathleen Newman Two 3-hour sessions, June 8 6:30-9:30p • 6/9 6:30-9:30p – $55.00 Closed form lidded jar with Kathleen- learn to thrown a closed lidded form and how to trim it. All Aboard Rae Baxter One 3-hour session, June 9 9-1p – $45.00 Surface is one of those things that doesn't take picking something up to make it desirable. Just a look, a shine, a change in depth can draw you in. We will take your work made in other seminars or tiles and test different applications and techniques to change the surface of your piece. Sign up for glaze or raku seminar to glaze your work! Pot-i-cure Kathleen Newman One 3-hour session, June 15 6:30-9:30p – $45.00 Learn the aesthetics and function of feet. Glazing techniques and knowledge Rae Baxter One 5-hour session, June 25 6-10p – $65.00 Using the work you have created, we will go through some fun glazing techniques using wax, latex and other methods to change the surface of your work. This class if offered so you can glaze all work made during the spring seminars. It’s free for anyone taking three (3) or more of the seminars where you will produce work for glazing. White crackle and Obvara Raku Nick Riesterer One 3-hour session, June 28 10-1p – $55.00 Using one or two of your pieces from previous seminars you will learn about white crackle, it's application and affects in Raku firings. Nick will take you from the beginning of making the glaze to the finish of firing your piece.

Open studio: For the Spring Session, the Guild is open to all current students on alternating Thursday & Saturday 9 am - 1 pm during the same weeks that classes are held.
Clay and bisque firing is included. Cone 6 glazing and Raku firing is available 8-week class only - Seminar students should register for Glaze and/or Raku seminar to glaze their work.
Students in the Spring 8-week class will be expected to contribute to the syllabus and complete each project.
All classes are open to adults (18+) only.
Fee: Ranges from $45-$255 as noted in listing above and on Store listing.
Students will be accepted in the order in which registration is received.
VPG reserves the right to cancel classes if minimum class sizes are not met, or due to unforeseen circumstances.
Payment must be made to Village Potters Guild to secure a spot in the class.
