General Class InformationVPG offers both introductory and advanced ceramics classes in Winter (Jan - Mar) and Fall (Sep - Nov) each year. The classes run for 10-12 weeks and are priced around $350.
The beginning class introduces students to both practical and expressive forms in clay through wheel throwing and hand building techniques. Students learn to make cups, mugs, and bowls through wheel, slab and coil processes, surface decoration, glazing methods and more. Students may repeat this course to develop a strong foundation in ceramics. The advanced class encourages students to expand their skills and techniques to develop a body of work that advances the clay experience. Our classes include clay, glaze, and firing. The VPG studio is open to current students during the same weeks that classes are held so students can continue to practice their skills. |
WorkshopsWe occasionally offer single-session pottery experiences to the public. Workshops may be on creating ceramic forms, firing techniques, or educational opportunities with guest artists.
Other ActivitiesWe offer our studio and assistance on a limited basis for other educational purposes and community outreach such as school projects, team building, and empty bowl initiatives.
We do not offer private parties, ceramic repair, or kiln rental. |
