General Class InformationVPG offers ceramics classes in Winter (Jan - April) and Fall (Aug - Dec) each year.
Classes introduce students to both practical and expressive forms in clay through wheel throwing and hand building techniques. Students learn to make cups, mugs, and bowls through wheel, slab and coil processes, surface decoration, glazing methods and more. Students may repeat classes to develop a strong foundation in ceramics. Our classes include clay, glaze, and firing, including crystalline firing and Raku. The VPG studio is open to current students during the same weeks that classes are held so students can continue to practice their skills. All classes and workshops are for adults (18+) only. |
Special Classes and WorkshopsWe occasionally offer one-time, no-experience-required pottery classes for those who want a taste of ceramic making, or to join us for a project-based class.
Workshops for experienced potters and ceramic artists may be on specific skills or techniques, creating ceramic forms, firing techniques, or educational opportunities with guest artists. Other ActivitiesWe offer our studio and assistance on a limited basis for other educational purposes and community outreach such as school projects, team building, and empty bowl initiatives.
We do not offer private parties, ceramic repair, or kiln rental. |
